Qualitative Research is basically related to all kinds of theoretical researches. It relies on the reason behind different aspects of behavior. In Qualitative research sampling is purposive and cases are chosen on the basis of how they typify certain characteristic. It is also exploratory in nature and is often associated with hypothesis generation. It is useful in policy and evaluation research.
Quantitative research, on the other hand, is more focused and is aimed at testing of hypothesis. It is a systematic and scientific investigation of quantitative properties of a theory. It is used for developing and employing mathematical models and theories. It has huge application in natural sciences and social sciences.
