What Is The Religion In Venice, Italy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

On the whole though, the majority of the Venice population is Orthodox Roman Catholic. The city of Venice is the capital of the province of Veneto, Italy. It is given the sobriquet of "Queen of the Adriatic".
Venice went through quite a turbulent phase in terms of religious leanings during the Counter Reformation. Several conflicts arised between the state and the Papacy as there was no one executed for religious heresy, as it wasn't a religiously fanatic state.
