There is a lot of pressure on everyone about how they look. People can feel to fat or too thin without really being either of those things. We see a lot of pictures and hear a lot of information about how we should look and feel, but it doesn't mean that its right.
If you have noticed your friend is perhaps taking more time over her food, choosing items carefully or disappearing for periods of time after having eaten then I can understand your concern. Eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia are a lot more common than we'd like to admit.
Confronting her could be hard straight away and it might scare her. Instead make an effort to stay near after a meal or pop to the loo with her. There may be nothing wrong but if she refuses your company or makes her excuses later on then it might be an idea to talk to her.
Tell her gently that you are worried about her and her behaviour. Tell her to talk to you if she's feeling low about herself and offer your support. If it becomes severe you will have to tell someone. It will be hard for her and you, but you might end up saving her life.
