Is anyone going to answer this I want too know??????????????????//
Yes and no. A small group in Russellville proclaimed secession from the Union and the confederate government acknowledged that, Kentucky is represented as the center star on the Confederate Flag, but the Union did not acknowledge that secession so therefore Kentucky was a Confederate and Union state. It had a Confederate Government and a Union govt. Kentucky's heritage and lifestyle is strictly southern though. Yanks begone! Southern FTW!

Being from Kentucky I can without a doubt say that Kentucky is a Southern State. Humid Sub-Tropical climate, magnolias, swampland in the western area, cotton grows there too. Tobacco grown in all of the state. Southern foods, fried chicken, sweet tea, etc... During the Civil War Kentucky took a neutral stance for a while, and as posted above, she did proclaim secession by a small group, yet the union would not acknowledge the secession. So yes Kentucky was a Confederate state, as she was represented by the 13'th central star on the Confederate Flag. Yet she also had a union government as well. Kind of confusing, but interesting none the less.

Even though efforts to secede failed in Kentucky and Missouri, both were recognised by the confederacy and represented by two stars on the confederate flags
