I recently saw a report on Dateline about ADHD and ADD and their connection to poor sleep patterns.  The two boys in the report had extreme and uncontrollable behavioral problems that affected their school work and home life.  It was discovered that they snored loudly and slept fitfully, indicating they were partially waking during the night.  This accumulated into a mild sleep deprivation which brought on a mild, chronic depression.  Depression is often demonstrated in children through behavioral disorders.  When the boys had their tonsils removed, the change in their behavior was dramatic and almost immediate--within a week.  Perhaps this would be applicable to your son?  I hope you will find some help.  Good luck!
