Why Is My Dogs Nose Dry?

I have a female pug recently conceived a litter of pups. I have noticed since she went into heat that her nose has been extremely dry. Even under her nose wrinkle between her eyes. Could she be sick? As i said she is newly pregnant and do not want to effect her pups health. She seems to be thin and very hungry. I attribute this to the pregnancy. Is there something I can do for her at home? I ahve not put anything on her nose. Can you suggest something? Thanks, Tracy
