Is It My Right To Move Out When The Landlord Doesn't Fix Anything?

I've been blaimed for not paying my rent when I have receipts and the landlord is not fixing anything when I let them know there is something wrong, do I have the right to break my lease?

I am office mgr. at an apartment complex. Please know that if he owns a lot of apts..it does get hectic because there may be 100 more tenants with needs..but if he doesn't fix it within a few weeks, you do have rights as a tenant but you'll need to go about it legally..you can download the tenant rights off the internet.

You NEVER have the right to break your lease or stop paying your rent unless the lack of your landlord's attention has created an unsafe living environment. This would depend on the severity of the items that are broken. For example, if you only have 1 toilet and it doesn't work...it must be repaired immediately. If you have a broken knob in your shower, it's not a hazard to your health or safety.

This appt complex has removed the smoke alarm and never replaced it, the fridge broke and it took them almost 2 months to get it fixed, the oven didn't work right, the a/c would reset itself every day while I was at work, what do you think about that?
