Are Old Age Homes Serving A Purpose To The Human Society?

Old age is the time when one after performing one's duty with respect to one's family and society on the whole retires from work due to the aging of the body. It is the moral duty of the children to take care of their parents who have worked hard in their lifetime to ensure the well being of their children.

In most societies after the parents grow old the children take care of them while they themselves take care of their grandchildren and spend life in a quite and relaxed way. However unfortunately in some societies people who grow old are seen to be a burden and are neglected and left to fend for themselves.

In such scenarios it is primarily the old age homes which take care of the senior citizens of the country. Also in most cases the younger generation is busy in its work resulting in the parents being left to themselves. Old age homes are also places where old people can meet, organize events and discuss life in general.
