My Dryer Is Broken (& I'm Leasing It) Shouldn't It Be Fixed Asap?!?

The latch that holds my dryer door shut is broken. I spoke to a women today about the problem. She said she would speak to someone about ordering the part. I said it needed to be fixed within the next few days. I have a family i need to wash clothes for. She told me "in the meantime just tape it shut or prop something against it to keep it shut." is this BS or what?! What should i do?!

Since you are leasing the dryer, the company you are leasing it from, should bring you a replacement dryer and pick up the broken one ASAP.
The company you are leasing from, should be prompt in their customer service. I'm sure they want their lease payment promptly.
You will need some very strong tape to keep that dryer door shut when you are drying a full load of clothes in it. If you prop something up in front of it, I hope you are strong, because it is going to take something heavey to keep that door closed while the laundry is tumbling and hitting against it.
To answer your second question. I think it is definately BS.

You can tape it or prop something up against it in the meantime, but the landlord should be right on getting it fixed too, not taking their time about it. Hope this helps.
