To What Extent Has Nano-technology Progressed Up To Date?

The newest thing i have heard of is a computer chip or should i say a computer that will be the size of one silicone computer chip of today. They are working on a chip or should i say complete mother board that has basically diamond peaks the size of a grain of a mustard seed that will act as storage and computer hardware for the whole computer making it easier to not only shrink the size of a personal computer but to do away with the heat /or power usage of the computers of today. I only caught part of the program on pbs about future technology. If they can perfect this a whole personal computer like we have today with the big metal case and fans will be gone along with the hard drives and dvd burners.in other words the whole computer with 100-1000 times the storage and file playing,videos,games,programs running capabilities(of anything made today will be like using a manual typewriter and camcorder) will be the size of a laptop.the chip they showed on this program was the size of a pencil eraser.

I am not personally terribly familiar with this other than it's name, but, there are some great minds on here that might be able to help you out, so I am going to share your question with my friends, and see if any of them can help you out with this.
