How Do You Make An Igloo For A School Project?

Answer Question

9 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Given below are the instructions on how to build a real igloo. To make a model, all you need to do is replace certain materials like snow, with alternatives or readily available substitutes and simply scale the size down so that it can be used for a project. It is wiser to actually study the design of an actual igloo and construct a model based on it.

Firstly, pack down an area in the shape of a circle as firmly as you can. Then mark out a circle close by and start digging down to make the bottom half as well an entry tunnel. Make use of a hand held saw to cut out brick shaped structures from the packed circle. Position the snow bricks surrounding the circumference of the igloo base.

I suggest you use appropriate materials and try to mimic the above process, although not exactly, but you get my drift.

I'm assuming you don't want an actual ice igloo but something that would resemble an igloo.  you could use marshmallows ( the big ones) or white foam cut into chunks.  then just glue or piece together using toothpicks

My daughter did a similar project. We used marshmellows. Looked great. You can use those big, kind of square-ish cotton balls also.

I did the simplest thing, just typed it in the google search bar, "how to make an igloo" and there it was. Funny, I live in Alaska, and never made one, lol.

Or just get a box of sugar cubes and stack them up. Put a drop of water or icing in between to help them stick together.

Just make sure your classmates can't get their hands on the project and eat it up before the class!

Dominos sugar cubes. I use to use them to build roman temples and stuff. Use elmers glue. They're great. You can get jacked while building your project cause they're really good to eat.
