    The spanner (or wrench) sign generally means service engine soon, or the equivalent of the "check engine light."  It could be something serious, or minor. The ethical thing to do would be to take it to a mechanic and find out what's triggering the symbol, then adjust your price accordingly.

      A spanner is the English term for wrench. It may mean the same as check engine now in American cars.
