Malawi is an interesting country to visit because of Lake Malawi, a huge inland lake, which boasts many rustic tourist camps on its shores, and a national park.

Fishing has provided a sustainable living for the local people for hundreds of years, and this is still very much part of the daily life there. You can watch the nets being cast out, and the catch being brought in, and sample some of the excellent local fish.

Basketware is a big handmade industry too, and the local people are very skilled at basket making, and in wood carving. Their hand made wood crafts are sold all over the country, and also exported around the world. The large wooden bowls, that are used to serve food in, are a good memento to bring back from Malawi. The people are very friendly and hospitable, and are always smiling.
