What Is The Electoral Roll?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The electoral roll or register is basically a list of all the individuals who are officially registered to vote in a given region. The roll makes the voting procedure much easier and convenient, and also assists in the prevention of fraud and can also be used for many other purposes such as picking out people for jury duty.

The roll has two forms. The complete version of the roll is accessible for the purpose of supervised examination by any person, lawfully. It is this particular version which is made use of for the purpose of voting and its usage is legally restricted. An edited version, which does not include those people who have selected to opt out can be bought by anyone for any reason.

One can obtain a roll, or even register from the local council of the area. To find out your nearest local council, go here -
