Have your dog examined by a veterinarian to make sure she is a good sample of the breed and not going to pass on health problems--like luxating patellas--to her puppies.  Also you need to make sure the stud dog does not have any hereditary health problems.  I would contact a reputable breeder for a stud--do not use a friend's dog etc; backyard breeding leads to the continuation of genetic problems and unhealthy puppies.
Any dog can have problems during whelping.  Dystocia or difficult birth does have a higher incidence with miniature and small breed dogs.  I tell anyone who plans on breeding to make sure they have several thousand dollars in savings in case of emergency during birth.  Dystocia is an emergency and most dogs have problems in the middle of the night.  Most C-sections are performed at emergency clinics.  If not treated immediately dystocia can lead to death of both puppies and the mother.
Do thorough research before going ahead with breeding--the more informed you are the better the outcome for all.
