1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It was during twelfth century when the Bishop Absalon advised king Valdemar I to establish Copenhagen. But it was only during fifteenth century when it became the royal capital and later the capital of whole of Denmark.

King Christian I was the first king who was crowned in Copenhagen and also it was he who established the Copenhagen University, the first in Denmark.

During the reign of King Christian IV Copenhagen got many of the marvels of architecture, e.g. Rosenborg Castle, The round Tower, Old stock Exchange and Canals of Copenhagen.

Being the largest city in Scandinavia, Copenhagen offers variety of sightseeing to its tourists. It can certainly boast of having some of the best buildings in Europe and nobody could return from the city without some beautiful memories of the place.
