    Vision: Not as good as ours. They have a mirror-like layer that reflects the smallest amoutns of light, which lets them see something even in murky water. But they can't see fine details as well as we can.

    Hearing: They can hear prey from 1.5 km away through the water.

    Smell: One of the most important senses for a shark. The nose and front of its head are covered by tiny pores that detect electrical impulses caused by other fish. Sharks can smell blood from up to 500m away.

    Vibrations: Another very important sensory input for sharks. More important that direct touch, probably A shark has a lateral line -- tubes filled with jelly-like substances -- that runs down both side fo the body. These sense vibrations in the water up to about 100m away. Impulses are sent to the brain and the shark responds accordingly.
