I have a case going right now and you are responsible For the charges that wouldn't have been there without your check being bad!

I'm afraid that you are on the hook for the check and the return charges.  If the bank allowed the check to try and clear more than twice you may have a case but if it was only twice you are going to have to pay for the check and the charges.

effort was made to correct. retailer refused and submitter check over and over again. to the tune of $600 on a $79 check. The bank refused to budge and so did the retailer. It was an honest mistake to begin with. miscalculation in the check book. who would i contact to clear up.? thanks

The check can only be submitted a total of three times. They can try an electronic submit but that has a different set of rules. If they submitted the check more than three times they are in violation of the Uniform Commercial Code - a state law. You would have grounds to sue them if this is true.
