It is only a fictional machine you are talking about and if something doesn't exist in reality, there is no question of using it or not using it. The term time machine is used for fictional equipment in which if a person enters, he is transported to some different era and he is able to see what is happening in that period. The era can be any thing; it could be have a past or a future also.
      
You might have seen and heard about this kind of machine in some movies or television serials. In recent days there was a movie called 'Déjà vu' in which the story of the movie has its basis on the concept of time machine itself. As we all know that imagination leads to invention, in future it might be possible that we would see this kind of equipment in reality.
