If iTunes says it's disabled that means that it is in recovery mode. To undo this you must restore your iPod. Restoring deletes everything off the iPod. So you better back your files up before you do restore.
If the iPod say it's disabled that means that you typed in your pass code incorrect too many times and is locking you out (for security reasons). Restoring your iPod (explained above) will get rid of the pass code, but this should only be used as a last resort.
