Are The Rocket Engines On A Spaceship Required All The Way To The Moon?

Answer Question

NOPE they only are needed for lift-off and to get into orbit. That totally uses the 1st 2 Stages. And part of the fuel of the 3rd stage. The 3rd stage is refired to take the craft out of orbit and on it's way to the moon. Once it's on it's way, the engine is shut down until it gets to the moon NOT sure when/how it's used in orbit, I don't think it is. Then once the landing crew is back on board, the LEM is released and the LEM falls back to crash on the moon's surface. (No one talks about that)., the engine is then re-fried to bring the crew back to earth.

I hope this answers your question. For more info, go to NASA.GOV they have tonnes of info there just by searching..

No rocket engines are not required all the way to the moon because when you get out of the earths gravity you can turn off the engines and float for some of the way.
