How Many Different Types Of Rabbit Are There?

There are over 60 different types of rabbits. They come in different shapes, sizes and colors. There are wild rabbits, as well as domestic rabbits that are either pedigree or mixed-breeds. Wild Rabbits have always been hunted for sport and a few years back, rabbits started being raised for their meat.
However, there is a new emerging trend that recognizes a perfect house pets in the rabbits' sweet disposition, fluffy warm body, long adorable ears and cute though aloof behavior.

There are small breeds (under 2.5kg) like the Netherland Dwarf, the Lion Head, the Mini Lop, the Dwarf Lop and the Dutch. The medium breeds (between 2.5kg and 4kg) are the English, the Angora and the Rex. The large breeds (between 4-5kg) are the New Zealand, the English Lop and the French Lop. There are also giant breeds (5kg and above, can even weigh 10kgs!) like the British Giant and the Flemish Giant.
