Mass is considered as the Eucharistic celebration in Latin liturgical rites of Roman Catholic church. It is also used in Old Catholic churches, Anglo-Catholic churches and even some High Church Luteran Regions.

The word Mass is from the Late-Latin word Miss which means Dismissal. Mass is considered very important in the Catholic Church. It is considered as the Sacrifice of Calvary which is offered in unbloody manner. The Catholics believe that Jesus instituted Mass in his Last Supper.

It is considered as the perfect way to offer adoration or "Latria" to God. Catholics believe that in objective reality the wheaten bread and grape wine are converted into Christ's body and blood.
