A personal computer is designed to be small enough to sit comfortably in a living room or under a desk, but powerful enough to run a wide variety of applications.

Personal Computer (or PC for short) is generally used to refer to a computer running some version of Microsoft Windows, but that isn't necessarily the case; Linux-based PCs and Apple Macs are still 'personal' computers after all.
