How Do You Move A Litter Box And The Cat Will Know Where It Is?
We need to move the litter box downstairs but are afraid that the kitty won't know where to go.

It's usually OK after a day or two. You should show her the box in its new place, and if she shows signs of wanting to use her box but seems confused, pick her up and take her there. If there is a problem you may need to shut her in the room with the new box for an hour or two, but she will probably get the message.

Once you've moved the box,show the cat where it is by taking him there yourself.
