Is There Much Unemployment In Chichester?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

No, in fact, it is quite the contrary. Chichester does not have a high unemployment rate. This town has a relatively low average rate of unemployment compared to the average unemployment rate in the rest of the towns in the southeast of England (which includes the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex) and in Great Britain in general. Chichester is located in the West Sussex county in the southeast of England.

According to an unemployment survey conducted in September 2006, out of every 100 persons in Chichester, only 1.3 persons are unemployed. This is the same rate of unemployment as that in the entire county of West Sussex. West Sussex is one of the counties of England with the lowest rate of unemployment. The southeast of England has a slightly higher rate of unemployment at 1.7 per cent, and the national average for Great Britain suggests a rate of 2.6 per cent unemployed persons.
