An applet refers to a program that is written in the Java. It can be included with an HTML page in the same manner as an image is included. They are executed through sandbox by majority of the web browsers and prevents them from access of local data. The applet code is basically downloaded from a web server and can be displayed on the web page by using applet HTML element. It is simple to make and works evenly or windows, OS or even Linux.
