How Do I Use My Evidence

The types of evidence that you use, changes from discipline to discipline. We use quotations from a poem or from a literary critic, we use data from an experiment in a lab report etc.
The process of putting together your argument is called analysis. It interprets evidence in order to support, test or refine a claim.
A thesis provides the controlling idea for a paper which should be original, assertive, and arguable. A strong thesis requires solid evidence to support and develop it because without an evidence, a claim is merely an unsubstantiated idea or opinion.
The evidence should be smoothly integrated into the text, the link between the claim and the evidence should be strengthened, and the evidence itself should provide support for the claim.
