Am I Going To Have Any Problems With Statue Of Limitations In This Contract?

I have a signed debenture with a valid and healthy company with many patients, for $100,000. Plus interest for 5 years. My question is if i am going to have any problems with statue of limitations in this contract? The first contract was signed in 1999, then updated in 2002, with payment to have been paid back with interest by 2005. Please help if you can. Do you know of a good attorney to help me? When contacting the company, always have gotten the run around. They need to be stronghold, to get my money back.

Did you mean Statute of Limitations?  I know it sounds a lot like 'statue' the way some folks say it, but it is 'statute.'  Do you have evidence of trying to contact them all along?  If so then the statute would be satisfied as soon as you make an attempt to collect.  That means the statute could not run out.  Copies of letters, etc would be helpful.  Any envelopes addressed to them or you with respect to this contract would be very helpful too.  In any case, if you've only been waiting for payment since 2005, I doubt the statute has run it's limit, but you would do well to contact an attorney, and the sooner the better.  Wish I could refer you to someone but unless you are in the Portland, OR metro area I wouldn't know of one.  Your local bar association might be willing to refer you to someone.  Good luck.

Generally the Statute of Limitations is going to be longer than most.  The usual rule is 6 years, though you will have to check your state to be sure.
