Why Do Kids Like Toys?

Kids love to play with anything that they are allowed to play with.  I noticed, however, when they were small, that they loved the boxes the toys came in more.  As they got older, they began to develop imaginations, and toys play right into that.  They can play with toys that resemble things mommy and daddy use: Toy kitchen, lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, dolls, dishes, etc.  I think the best "toy" for a child is a toy called a BOOK, read to them every night before they go to bed.  As I've said in other answers, I never believed in televisions, telephones, banks...so we had toys and books.  We made a lot of crafts together, and at Christmas, made our own decorations for the tree.  I didn't stop reading to my youngest daughter until she was 13 yrs. Old, then I started having her read to me at bedtime.  Thank the lord for Fisher Price, and the bookbinders of the world.
