Before employing anyone it is advisable to have background checks carried out so that you can confirm the story portrayed on the candidate's resume. A background check will investigate criminal convictions, financial problems and past history so that you can base your recruitment decision on more solid details.

In this age of privacy, you will often times be unable to get much out of a former employer about you prospective new hire. The former employer may only be able to tell you the dates they worked there and, if you are lucky, if that company considers that person rehireable.

      Good Luck.
