The King Cobra is known as Ophiophagus Hannah and it is easily the longest snake in the venomous land snakes. A king cobra can easily grow up to 18.5 feet, they have slender bodies and thus they generally don't exceed more than 45 lb. the venom of the King Cobra is said to be neurotoxin and is easily capable of killing a human being. It is said that the mortality rate can be very much close to 75 per cent.

However it is said that most of the bites absorb nonfatal amounts. Although the name has cobra in it...but the king cobra does not belong to the true class of the cobras. One of the peculiarities of the king cobra is that it normally feeds on other snakes. This feeding habit is reflected in its name…Ophiophagus in Greek stands for 'Snake Eater'.
