My Six Year Old Female Jack Russell Terrier Seems To Be Lactating. She Had One Litter Of Pups Three Years Ago And We Are Thinking Of One More Litter Before Having Her Spayed. Is This "leaking" Something To Worry About?

The only thing we are doing differently is she is on a supplement to improve the quality of her fur. It is called "Shed Defense" by Nutri-Vet. 20 mg borage oil, 15 mg sunflower oil, 15mg safflower oil, 10 mg flax seed oil. It also has liver meal, dried whey, di-calcium phosphate, stearic acid, cellulose, dried milk, magnesium stearate, magnesium silicate, silicon dioxide. She has been getting one tab twice daily. Could this have messed up her hormones?

I wouldn't think the pills would be a problem. Most of the stuff in there is all natural. Do you think she could be going through a false pregnancy? Did you try to breed her the last time she was in heat? That's nothing to really worry about. Producing milk shouldn't be a problem either. If nothing is there to suckle, then the milk will dry up soon enough.

Thanks for replying to my question. I was trying to highlight 4 stars for the rating and after I touched the first, I couldn't change it. I did think of false pregnancy and found more information online. Thanks again.
