Asburgers, to my knowledge, is a form of autism. There are many forms of autism. If you google it you would learn a lot of differences and also treatments available. My nephew has asperger's and was originally diagnosed adha. But when looking in further they realized the truth. He is a genius with lots of complications (learning disabilities, behavioral problems, attention issues). But yes, i think he can very much have a normal life.

My son is 9 and is currently going through a re-diagnosis. You will find the autistic society website and helplines really good.

I don't know how severe your child is whether you would describe his life as 'normal' may not be true but he should be able to have a fulfilling life.

It depends in his abilities and disabilities but there are lots of parents out there who can help you if you go on the specialist websites. Don't lose heart it just means your son is special. All parents would rather have special than dull!!!!

      Good luck.
