What Do You Know About The People Of Pakistan?

Answer Question

Since times immemorial, South Asia has always been a pot-light for the migrants from both the north-east and north-west. These routes led millions of peoples to the sub-continent, and settled there on one reason or the other. Those peoples mixed with the inhabitants in a process of thousands of year. They mixed with the pre-Dravidian stock. The process lasted a long time and eventually the Dravidian type emerged.

The migrants and the invaders came mainly from central and western Asia. The Dravidians were followed by the Aryans, Greeks, Persians, Arabs, Turks and the Mughals and as could be expected, a mixture of races has resulted. The final blend may be said to be a predominantly Caucasian general type, with Mediterranean strains outstanding (strains which are also found in the people of Iran, Afghanistan, Arabia and parts of Turan).

In terms of origin, dominant racial type in Pakistan is the Indo-Aryan. The later thrusts brought in broad-headed Scythians, and Mongoloids. Dravidian traces are especially notable in the Kalat area of Pakistan, and of Mongoloid in the eastern district of Bangladesh.

The people of the north-western and the western part of Pakistan, the Pathans and the Baluchis, are mainly and admixture of Turkish and Iranian strains, both being important branches of the Aryan family.
