She was nominated for the 2006 United States senate. She is a member of the American Democratic Party. She will assume her office in January 2007. Claire Redfield was a name given to the lead character in the movie 'resident evil'. Clair huxtable was a fictional character used on the Cosby show.

      Another such character by the name Claire Standish was created for the movie 'The breakfast club', in 1985. There are other such characters which make use of the word Claire like, Claire Littleton a character made for TV show Lost and Claire Bennet for Heroes. 'Claire was a fantasy film made in 2001. Clair was also a hit song of Gilbert O'Sullivan, in 1971.
