Simple random sampling (with or without replacement), stratified random sampling (dividing the population into a set of non-overlapping sub groups), cluster sampling (sampling groups of individuals from a population, like clubs from a school, but all members are asked, groups chosen at random), systematic sampling (taking the population and taking every nth individual), convenience sampling (BAD!
