Where Is Columbine Located?

Columbine basically is an unincorporated census-designated place situated in Jefferson County, Colorado, with a small portion of it placed in the Arapahoe County, Colorado.

According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was estimated at 24,095. The Columbine High School which was the place where the April 20th, 1999 massacre took place is situated in Columbine CDP. The total area of this city is said to be 17.5 square kilometres, with 17.2 square kilometres being complete land and 0.3 square kilometres being covered by water.

The population density is estimated at 1,401.1 per square kilometre and the median income for a family unit in the CDP was around $71,319. Around 1.6% of families and 2.0% of the total population lives below poverty line.
