Who were the first great explorers and what country did they represent should be the question. The children of Adam and Eve are the first recorded explorers to leave home and find new a new world. The next big event in recorded history was when God sent the great flood to destroy everything on the earth because it had become corrupt. After the great flood the only human survivors were Noah his wife, three sons and their wives. They were the next to venture away from home and it was their descendent's who spread out and explore the earth. The next recorded explorers was one of the sons of Joseph and the Egyptians who discovered Ireland and Britain some time around 2500 B.C.. The next major exploration was Alexander the Great of Greece who conquered India and parts of Asia and Northern Africa. Next came Julius Caesar of Rome who conquered all of Europe, parts of Asia and North Africa. The next major explorer was Leif Erikson the Danish Viking who discovered Iceland, Greenland, and North America 1000 years before Columbus. Nicolo Polo, father of Marco Polo of Venice Italy, left home in 1254 A.D. To explore the world and find new markets of trade. Marco Polo would join his father 14 years later to discover China and most of Asia. And of course we all know about Christabo Columbo (Christopher Columbus), the Italian who sailed from Portugal with the funding of Spain sailed into the west to discover South America. So who was really the first explorers to travel across this earth of ours and discover new worlds? It really depends upon where you come from and what part of history you are studying right now. While todays school text books cover most of our traditional history they can not cover all of it. It is up to you the reader to become an explorer yourself and discover the forgotten and lost stories which are still waiting to be found. One last note; where does Atlantis suposidly the greatest of all explorers fall into our history before the great flood or after and which country did they represent?
