How To Uninstall Internet Explorer 6 SP 1?

Answer Question

Internet Explorer can be uninstalled in various ways depending on how one has installed it and also the system's configurations.

For example if you are using Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows Me, you can use the Add/Remove program tool to uninstall Internet Explorer by first clicking Start, then pointing to Settings and then clicking Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs and on the Install/Uninstall tab click Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and then click Add/Remove.

Please note that the above procedure would work only if you have administrative privilege to install or uninstall Internet Explorer in Windows NT or Windows 2000.
Also if the backup (uninstall) information has been deleted or if you have installed a service pack in Windows 2000 system then Internet Explorer won't be listed in the Add/Remove program tool and cannot be uninstalled.

Another way to uninstall if Internet Explorer is not included in the list of Add/Remove programs would be by running Setup.exe from the Internet Explorer/Setup folder; for Windows 2000 run the w2kexcp.exe/u and then following the above mentioned procedure. If these procedures don't work then one could reinstall Windows along with the version of Internet Explorer and then uninstall it during the process.
