A Tiger Prawn is basically a marine crustacean which is reared for food mostly. It is found almost all around the world in Indo-west Pacific, eastern coast of Africa, Arabian Peninsula, South east Asia, Sea of Japan, eastern Australia, Mediterranean Sea.
It is widely cultured. However, it is losing its market share to white leg shrimp. Approximately 900,000 tonnes of these prawns are consumed annually.
