Jordan is an Arab country to be found in the Middle East, situated in western Asia. To the north of Jordan you will find Syria while Iraq borders it to the north-east. To the east as well as the south you will find Saudi Arabia. Finally Israel borders Jordan to the west.

Jordan is officially called the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Both Israel and Jordan share not only the coastline of the famed Dead Sea but also of the Gulf of Aqaba. Jordan also shares the latter coastline with Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

The country is predominantly made up of arid desert plateau found in the east, while Highland area is seen in the west. It is the Great Rift Valley belonging to the Jordan River that separates Jordan and Israel. The key cities of Jordan would include the capital which is Amman, positioned in the Northwest, as well as Irbid and Az Zarqa, which are found in the north.
