How Would A Christian Argue Against Embryo Research?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

"Just because many benefits such as cures for degenerative diseases could be reached through embryo experimentation, this does not mean to say that the actions are moral. Humans are made in the image and likeness of God which surely means that the only way that humans can be created, is through natural means of fertilisation. It would appear that the
embryo, because it has been fertilised by the sperm and the egg, is an individual who is developing by natural means. Therefore, the embryo has as much right to life as any human being, regardless of whether it is unborn or not.

The way in which live foetuses are disposed of during the practice of abortion, can be linked with the experimentation carried out on 'left over' embryos from IVF treatment, a process which could also be deemed to be unacceptable as it stimulates a human life outside the womb."
