What Was The Bolshevik Revolution About?
Answers
The Bolshevik revolution or the October revolution, though sounding dramatic, is an event which led to the Bolsheviks taking control and removing the Russian Provisional Government from power. It consisted of the second phase or part of the 1917 Russian Revolution. It led to the Russian Civil War which lasted from 1917 to 1920. The revolution consisted of war being fought between the Red Army of the Bolsheviks and a loose alliance of counter revolutionary forces loyal to the Czar known as the white army. Later the Bolsheviks had the entire royal family eliminated to make sure that events could never be reversed.
The Bolshevik revolution was the first ever Marxist Communist revolution of its kind in history and made Lenin the leader of the Soviet state that was later formed in 1922.
