Normally, the harddisk password set from the laptop's CMOS is HIGH SECURITY.
HIGH SECURITY password can be unlocked with MASTER(manufacturer password) and USER(user set) password.
MAX SECURITY password reset with MASTER password will 100% format the drive before it can be used.
If a laptop harddisk is locked by a password, and you don't know the password...you are in a world of pain.
