Why Do Some Poems Have One Seated?

It's not sested,but 'sestet' or 'sextet'. The kind of poem you are talking about is called a sonnet. However there are different types of sonnets.The Italian or Petrarchan sonnet is the one you are referring to. It has a very well-defined form. It has an octave (eight lines expressing a single thought) followed by a sestet(six lines that sum up the idea of the whole poem). The metrical form is Iambic Pentameter. Not all sonnets have the same form, though. The English form consists of three quatrains( 8 lined verses) followed by a rhyming couplet.
