Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The valley of kings or “wadi biban el muluk” in Arabic has been the focus of egyptological and archaeological research since the late eighteenth century. The valley is known to contain sixty two tombs and chambers, ranging from simple to exorbitant and luxurious, for the comfort of the Pharaohs and their royal families in the after-life. The valley can be found in Egypt, on the banks of the Nile and in the heart of the Theban Necropolis. This burial wadi is comprised of two valleys, the East valley, where majority of royalty is found and the West valley. The tombs found here were constructed between the periods of 16th century to 11th century BC.
