What Is The Contribution Of F W Taylor In The Disciplines Of Managment?

Frederick Winslow Taylor was a mechanical engineer who belonged to America. He is popularly known as the Father of Scientific Management and is considered as one of the first management consultants. He has great contributions towards the efficiency movement and the progressive era.

He emphasized on the need for a partnership between a trained and qualified management staff and an innovative workforce. He defined the scientific management principles as:
- Replace the current methods of doing tasks with methods which are based on scientific study of tasks.
- Select, train and develop all the employees with scientific methods.
- Provide the workers with detailed instructions and supervision.
- The work should be equally divided between the managers and the workers.

He also developed time and motion study. He was the president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and his contributions have made management what it is today.
