I would suggest buying a end of the year model to get a better deal on it. Get one with a memory stick/card that you can download thousands of pictures with and has as many pixels per square inch as possible for more detail. And that either has the ability to add to the power of the lens or has the ability to go from close up to far away by the touch of a button. Then decide if you want a big screen for previewing the pictures or if you are ok with a small one. then decide the price you are willing to pay for these features. Here is a page from circuit city with a low end camera starting at around 160 dollars and going up to and beyond 600 dollars. Www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=172527&WT.mc_n=67&WT...

I have had 3 Olympus Stylus cameras, they are really good and easy to use, they come with a rechargeable lithium ion battery and take xd cards. They are weatherproof too so it they get splashed with a little water it does not damage it. The price is good too! Right now I have an Olympus stylus 12mp i love it and i spent only about 320.00, there is ones with less mp that are cheaper, but they all are a good deal, good luck!
