Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A popular degree for those looking for a career in social service is the MSW, that is, the Master of Social Work. An MSW is basically a kind of master's degree in the area of social work which is obtained from a graduate school which is recognised by the Council on Social Work education. the master's degree requires two years of post graduate education, along with work experience. While many people obtain a BSW, or a Bachelor of Social Work degree before going for a Master's, majority of MSW courses take in applicants having undergraduate degrees in a wide variety of liberal arts degrees.

Majority of MSW programs let students select a clinical path, which involves directly communicating with clients, and a community practice path, with a focus on many areas such as political advocacy, human services management etc.
